Adriana Lima - The Most Beautiful Woman in the World...

Never mind Miss Universe and her lame baton-twirling routine, we submit Adriana Lima, Brazilian Supermodel, age 26 as the most beautiful woman in the world. Most of the evidence is pictured above.

Adriana Francesca Lima is a Brazilian model known mostly from her work with Victoria's Secret. If you've seen the recent "Angel" commercials for Victoria's Secrtet (Dec. 2010), you'll understand why she routinely appears on the hottest hot lists on the planet.

Lima was discovered at age 13, and entered and finished first in Brazil's Ford Supermodel of the World competition at 15, finishing second the following year before signing with, surprise, Elite Model Management in New York City.

Unlike her compatriot, Alessandra Ambrosio, who knew she wanted to be a model from a very early age, Adriana never really thought much about it. What she did have was a good friend who wanted to enter a modeling contest but didn't want to go it alone, so Lima, being a good pal, went along for support. Guess who got picked? You got it - not her friend. Shortly after this chance beginning, she entered and finished in first place in Brazil's Ford Supermodel of the World Search at the tender age of only 15. Following that coup, she entered the 1996 Ford Supermodel of the World contest and finished in second place. The judges were later thrown off the circuit - i mean LOOK at her! Three years later, Lima moved to New York City and signed with Elite Model Management. From there, it was only a matter of time before she appeared in numerous international fashion magazines and walked the catwalks for big-name designers such as Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, Ungaro, Armani, Fendi, Valentino and others. Lima then became a GUESS? girl appearing on GUESS?' Fall 2000 ad campaign. She also appeared in the book A second decade of Guess? Images.

With such a high profile here in the US, it wasn't long before she appeared on the cover of GQ in 2006. It went on to be the most widely sold issue for GQ thatyear.

In February 2008 she was featured on the cover of Esquire magazine, re-creating the classic 1966 Angie Dickinson cover on Esquire's 75th anniversary along with fellow Victoria's Secret Angels Karolina Kurkova, Izabel Goulart and Selita Ebanks. Model.com featured her at No.3 on the list of the hottest models today. (again, a travesty) and appeared only in shoes, diamonds and gloves for the November 2007 issue of Vanity Fair celebrating 20 years of supermodels with her fellow Angels. Lima was chosen to be a part of People magazine's 100 most beautiful people in the world and received a star on the Hollywood "Walk of Fame" prior to the 2007 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Despite the myriad of covers and brands with whom she's worked, Lima is again, undoubtedly known for her work with Victoria's Secret, which began in 1998. Lima has appeared on several television ads for the brand, including the controversial "Angel in Venice" commercial of 2003 with Bob Dylan and her solo Victoria's Secret's Super Bowl XLII ad, viewed by 103.8 million lucky fans. To top off 2008, became the face of the famous Miracle Bra. Lima wore the "Fantasy Bra" for the 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, where defibulators and CPR technicians were standing by. Mercifully, in early 2008 Adrian Lima renewed her contract with Victoria's Secret for 5 more years. Amen.
